Meet The Speakers: Dr. Silke Blohm

Silke Blohm is founding director of 4Sciences Group, a UK-based business supporting Higher Education development and research excellence, and is working with universities, funders, and other stakeholders globally to contribute to sector best practice.

She has more than 25 years of experience in institutional and strategic development with a strong track record of growing research portfolios and creating governance structures and policy frameworks as well as research support structures supporting the whole research lifecycle, and contributing to research capacity strengthening & infrastructure development in different regional and cultural settings.

She has held senior management positions on three continents, most recently as Senior Advisor to the Pan-African University, Cameroon, Director of Research & Enterprise at SOAS, UK, and at KAUST, Saudi Arabia. She also served as Managing Director of the Addis Ababa Institute of Technology, Ethiopia.

Silke regularly presents at conferences and workshops and was recently recognized as Distinguished Faculty by the US Society of Research Administration International (SRAI). Silke is on the editorial board of JoRMA, the Journal of Research Management and Administration. She also acts as a regular reviewer and evaluator of grant applications for several organisations. Silke is a trained physicist and social scientist and is a doctoral researcher at the International Centre for Higher Education Management, ICHEM, University of Bath where she is researching international collaborations.
