About

Dr. Adebowale Jeremy Adetayo is the ARM West Africa Program Manager, recently recognized among the top 2% of scientists worldwide, as noted in the annual Stanford University report. This prestigious acknowledgment reflects his substantial contributions to the field of Library and Information Science and highlights the expertise driving WARIMA’s initiatives. Dr. Adetayo’s academic journey began at Babcock University, where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Information Resources Management. He further advanced his education by completing a PhD in Library and Information Science at Adeleke University, laying a strong foundation for his distinguished career. Currently, Dr. Adetayo manages the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded Research Management Capacity Building Initiative in West Africa. His role involves overseeing capacity-building programs, facilitating workshops, and training research managers at various institutions. Additionally, he served as the Deputy Director of the Office of Research, Grants, and Linkages at Adeleke University, where he provided strategic leadership for research programs and projects. He has also served as for many years as head of elibrary, reference and circulation unit of Adeleke University Library. With a prolific output of over 76 academic works, 51 of which are indexed in Scopus, Dr. Adetayo’s research addresses critical areas such as research productivity, visibility,  impact, and innovations in library services. His work is a testament to his dedication to advancing knowledge in information management and educational technology. Beyond his global recognition, Dr. Adetayo has received numerous accolades, including the Excellence in Research Collaboration Award, Research Impact Award, Sustainability Research Award, and International Research Partnership Award. For several consecutive years, he has been recognized as the Most Published Researcher at Adeleke University. Passionate about educating the next generation of information professionals, Dr. Adetayo lectures at Adeleke University and leads information literacy programs. He also represents the university as an Ambassador for the Association of Commonwealth Universities and is a member of the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria. Dr. Adetayo’s blend of academic excellence, research expertise, and visionary leadership makes him a vital figure in advancing research management and innovation within West Africa.
