We are proud to announce that Dr. Adebowale Jeremy Adetayo, our ARM West Africa Program Manager, has been recognized among the top 2% of scientists worldwide in the recently released annual Stanford University report. This prestigious acknowledgment is a testament to Dr. Adetayo’s significant contributions to the field of Library and Information Science. Dr. Adetayo’s journey in academia began at Babcock University, where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Information Resources Management. His pursuit of knowledge led him to Adeleke University, where he completed his PhD in Library and Information Science. This solid educational foundation has been the bedrock of his impressive career. Currently, Dr. Adetayo serves as the Program Manager for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funded Research Management Capacity Building Initiative in West Africa. His expertise in research management is further exemplified in his position as Deputy Director of the Office of Research, Grants and Linkages at Adeleke University, where he provides strategic leadership and oversees research programs and projects.
Dr. Adetayo’s contributions to the field of Library and Information Science are prolific and impactful. He has authored over 76 academic works, with 51 of his publications indexed in Scopus. His research spans various aspects of library science, information management, and educational technology, reflecting his commitment to advancing knowledge in these fields. Recent work has explored the potential of artificial intelligence in academic libraries, the impact of social media on research output, and innovative approaches to library services in the post-COVID-19 era. Recognition of Dr. Adetayo’s excellence extends beyond his recent global ranking. He has received numerous awards, including the Excellence in Research Collaboration Award, Research Impact Award, Sustainability Research Award and International Research Partnership Award. He has also been named the Most Published Researcher at his institution for consecutive years.
In addition to his research and administrative roles, Dr. Adetayo is passionate about nurturing the next generation of information professionals. As a teaching staff of Adeleke University, he lectures and organizes information literacy programs. He also serves as Adeleke University Ambassador for the Association of Commonwealth Universities and a member of librarian registration council of Nigeria.
