TODAY 25 th September 2023 – WARIMA joins the rest of the Global Research Management community to celebrate World Research Administrators Day, which is celebrated annually on the 25 th September. This day brings a focus the role and
significance of research management in our institutions and to society generally. Research is needed in every society for its contribution to economic growth, advancement of knowledge, innovation, and entrepreneurship. To ensure a very strategic, focused and well supported research agenda, we in WARIMA believe that there is a very clear need for the development of a cadre of professional research managers in research institutions and universities. These individuals will ensure research is resourced, well managed and results optimally utilized.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To achieve our aspirations, we are cognizant of the challenges that institutions and individuals face in building necessary capacity for an effective research management. In the past year WARIMA has provided training programs for its members. It has also networked within the global community providing access to training and capacity support to members through other sister organizations. We have also launched several regional projects aimed at providing consolidated resources for its members. We are grateful to our donors, collaborators and institutional members for the support provided.
If anything, the global covid pandemic has highlighted for us the need for a global spread of competencies to ensure adequate and timely response to global challenges. We challenge all our stakeholders to work with us on a similar point of view, to build research management competencies in all institutions and countries in the sub region to effectively manage research in their countries.

To all practitioners we look forward to engaging with you for a strong organization that we shall all be proud of. Happy Research Administrators Day. Take a break from the stress, pressure and deadlines and reflect on the contribution you are making to improving health, knowledge, and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
